Bells of Steel
Bells of Steel Atlas Stone Trainer
Adjustable plate-loadable atlas stone trainer: a rigid sphere shell that loads with plates so one unit replaces a whole stone ladder.
Fat 2-inch non-rotating axle bar that punishes grip on deadlifts and cleans, with plate-loadable sleeves and no knurl to hide behind.

The Rogue Axle Bar looks like a barbell that skipped the gym and went to work on a job site, and that is exactly the point. The 2-inch diameter shaft is far thicker than a standard 28.5mm bar, so your fingers can barely wrap it, which turns every deadlift, clean, and overhead press into a grip test as much as a strength test. Crucially the sleeves do not rotate, so on an axle clean the whole bar spins in your hands as it comes up, demanding a fast, aggressive turnover that exposes any weakness in your technique. The smooth or lightly textured shaft gives you nowhere to hide, and because it loads with standard Olympic plates you can train the axle deadlift and clean-and-press with the same plates you already own. It is a deceptively simple tool that delivers outsized carryover: lifters routinely find their double-overhand grip and forearms transform after a few months of axle work. The downsides are straightforward, the fixed-sleeve design means plates can spin and you generally load it on the floor, the fat shaft is unforgiving for beginners, and the smooth finish can feel slick under chalk. For grip and strongman crossover, it is one of the best-value implements Rogue makes.
