Overview

The Hydrow KS.1 reworks the brand's familiar formula for people who simply do not have room for a long, fixed rower. The headline change is a frame engineered to fold, letting the seat rail tilt up so the machine takes a fraction of its working footprint when stored against a wall. Underneath the new chassis is the same computer-controlled electromagnetic resistance that has always defined Hydrow, delivering a smooth, near-silent pull that instructors modulate during filmed on-water classes. A 22-inch swivel touchscreen rotates to face the floor for the off-rower strength, yoga and mobility content, so the KS.1 doubles as a full studio rather than a single-purpose cardio piece. The trade-off for the compact design is a slightly different seat-rail geometry and a build that feels engineered around storage rather than raw stability, though in practice it handles a wide range of heights well. Like the rest of the family, it depends on a subscription for its class library and live leaderboards, and the offline mode is bare by comparison.
