Overview

The NordicTrack RW500 is the company's value entry into connected rowing, built to deliver the iFIT experience without the bigger price of the RW900. It uses a dual resistance design that blends a magnetic brake with an air flywheel: the magnetic side gives 26 digitally controlled levels that iFIT trainers can adjust automatically during a class, while the air component adds a responsive feel that rewards harder pulls. A 10-inch HD touchscreen runs the iFIT platform, streaming studio rows and trainer-led global workouts filmed on real waterways, with the trainer able to control your resistance hands-free. The seat rail folds upward so the RW500 can be stored vertically, and transport wheels make it easy to reposition. The smaller screen and lighter frame are the obvious concessions versus the flagship, and the air component means it is not as quiet as a pure magnetic rower under hard effort. iFIT content lives behind a membership, but a trial is typically bundled and the machine still functions for manual rowing afterward. For a first connected rower or a budget that tops out around a thousand dollars, the RW500 hits a practical balance of features, footprint and price.
