Overview

The Murphy Rack is PRx Performance's premium fold-flat rack, named for the way it disappears against the wall like a Murphy bed. It is built on serious 3x3 11-gauge uprights with Westside 1-inch hole spacing through the working range, then mounted to wall studs and hinged so it swings out for full lifting and folds to a few inches of depth afterward. Compared with the lighter Profile series, the heavier 3x3 steel feels noticeably more solid under load and carries a higher capacity, while still folding flat to reclaim a garage bay. A fold-up multi-grip pull-up bar and J-cups come standard, and the rack supports PRx accessories and an optional kipping bar for higher pull-up clearance. It is the choice for serious lifters who refuse to give up either heavy steel or floor space. The trade-offs are those of any folding rack at this level: secure lag-bolting into solid framing is essential, the deployed depth is fixed by the hinge design rather than freely configurable, and a folding rack cannot fully enclose you, so safety arms or straps are recommended for limit lifts.
