Overview

The Bowflex SelectTech 560 takes the familiar dial-adjust dumbbell and bolts on a layer of smart tracking that nudges it toward the connected-fitness crowd. Each handle turns from 5 to 60 pounds with a twist of the end dials, replacing a rack of fifteen fixed dumbbells, but the headline feature is the built-in sensor that talks to the JRNY app over Bluetooth. The app counts reps, logs sets, and feeds the data into guided sessions and trainer-led video workouts, which is genuinely useful if you struggle to keep a logbook. The handle is rubberized for grip, and the plate-locking is reassuringly positive once the dial seats. The catch is that the smart features lean on a subscription to be worth much, and the sensor adds a price premium over a plain dial dumbbell of the same range. Sold here as a single so you can buy one to test or pair two for a full set. For lifters who want their dumbbells to nag them about consistency, the 560 is a clever, if pricey, take on the format.
