Echelon Row

Overview

The Echelon Row is the standard-screen sibling to the touchscreen Row-S, aimed at riders who already own a tablet and would rather not pay for a built-in display. It uses a magnetic resistance system with 32 levels adjusted by a lever at the front of the rail, so you control the effort manually rather than handing it to an instructor. A padded device holder mounts your own tablet or phone at eye level to stream Echelon's library of rowing, strength and scenic classes through the companion app, which also tracks output, stroke rate and a class leaderboard. Magnetic resistance keeps the machine quiet enough for shared spaces, and the seat rail folds upward so the Row stands vertically against a wall between sessions, a real advantage in a small room. The build is more value-oriented than premium, with a lighter frame and simpler seat than the connected flagships, but it covers the fundamentals of a good rowing stroke. As with all of Echelon's connected gear, the classes sit behind a subscription, though basic manual rowing works without one. It is a sensible middle ground for budget-conscious buyers who want guided content without paying for hardware they already have.
